Who knows what is in store for us? I cannot predict the future. I'm not particularly interested. The present moment is wonderful enough.

Some may do great things; others may do things that look less significant on the surface. Ultimately what you do is secondary. But how you do it is primary.

If you want abundance, you need to find that sense of fullness first, which is inseparable from the present moment. Feel a sense of lack and then try to create abundance. Your power is greatly diminished.

The essential thing is to appreciate the seemingly unremarkable in your life. If you don't appreciate the seemingly insignificant and you're waiting for something significant to happen to you, then you always pursue some idea of what is significant and fail to realize the significant is hiding in the insignificant.

It is from that place of intense aliveness, spacious presence, that you can appreciate the aliveness in all things. It is more than just the sense perception of the chair or the perception of the table or the glass of water. Within the sense perceptions you can sense that there is more than what you are perceiving on the surface; that everything has a presence, an alive presence to it. When you touch that within you, then you don't have to wait for something to happen in your life to feel more alive.

Don't underestimate the power that is in presence. Even if seemingly nothing much is happening yet, there's enormous power that comes through you and flows into this world. Don't even try to understand what it wants; you can only ever get glimpses of what its ultimate purpose is. There's no single human being who knows intellectually what that ultimate purpose of that vast power is that wants to come into this world through you.

So really what it comes down to, it's God. Wherever you look, it's God appearing as this, that, that…and what you really love and appreciate in each form is the divine formless out of which each form comes. But to be able to sense that you have to sense it in yourself first. And that is seeing the beauty in everything, that's really what it means.

The heart of the universe does not have a particular location; it's not somewhere out there. It is concealed in every being.

All life forms are connected and arise from the one source of life. Feeling the aliveness of the inner body is the beginning of realizing this.

The perennial philosophy of spiritual truths runs through from the most ancient times to now—the same truths coming in different words, different forms. It's the truth of wakening: living in alignment with the greater intelligence; the truth of surrender to the present moment; the truth of letting go of imposing stories on reality, and waking up to sanity.

It's all in you. If a book or any other teaching is powerful, how else do you feel it? There must be something in you that recognizes it because there are others to whom a spiritual book or teaching would be meaningless.

The power is in you. The answer is in you. And you are the answer to all your searches: you are the goal. You are the answer. It's never outside.

By being present in daily life and in your interactions with others you teach presence. And so that is part of your purpose in life.

If this were your only spiritual practice, it would be enough: to withdraw identification from opinions, positions, thoughts.

The basis for true change is freedom from negativity. And that's what acceptance implies: no negativity about what is. And then you see what this moment requires: what is it that is required now so that life can express itself more fully?

In any relationship, especially marriage, be as free of compulsive thinking as possible. In other words, the more space there is in the relationship - inner space - the more love there is because love arises out of the inner spaciousness.

Whatever state of consciousness you are in has an effect on the totality of consciousness-human consciousness, planetary consciousness. You cannot not affect others by your state of consciousness.

Go within. Use the inner body as a starting point for going deeper and taking your attention away from where it’s usually lodged, in the thinking mind.

You all know the saying which is very true: What you resist persists. And I’m sure many of you have already found that out in your life. And then suddenly when you let go of resistance you let go of an attachment to something: I need this to happen in order to be happy; I don’t want what is, I want something else. To be okay with what is, which is the simplicity of this moment, is the beginning of true change.

Underlying the sense - perceived universe there is the un-manifested life: the eternal one consciousness out of which every life form emerges. And you are that.

With awareness there comes choice. And so you are able to say: "I allow this moment to be as it is". And then, suddenly, where before there was irritation, there is now a sense of aliveness and peace. And out of that comes right action.

You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.

One of the dysfunctional patterns of the mind is the assumption that the Now needs to be filled with something all the time. Of course you have to do things, but see if you can also experience the spaciousness of this moment, the inherent goodness of this moment, regardless of what it contains.

Somebody, I don't recall who, once said: "When you get there, there's no there there". This applies not only to location in space, but also to time: when you get to the future, you find yourself in the present moment. So the future never comes. Don't let the thought of future (or past) obscure the preciousness of the present moment.

To experience anything fully and see it clearly there must be a moment of presence where conceptual thinking is not interfering with your experience of that moment.

When you feel confused or burdened by problems focus on THIS INSTANT and ask yourself: WHAT PROBLEM DO I HAVE RIGHT NOW? You will find that there is no problem NOW. A challenge that requires action, possibly, but not a problem.

A great deal of what people say, think, or do is actually motivated by fear, which of course is always linked with having your focus on the future and being out of touch with the Now. As there are no problems in the Now, there is no fear either.

When you create a problem, you create pain. All it takes is a simple choice, a simple decision: No matter what happens, I will create no more pain for myself. I will create no more problems.

When you are present in this moment, you break the continuity of your story, of past and future. Then true intelligence arises, and also love.

Feel a sense of lack and then try to create abundance. Your power is greatly diminished.
